AL-KO VT Academy: Training, Further Education & Qualification as a Chassis Technician
Nina Kast, Florian Vorreiter and Magnus Annuscheit – this is the team of the AL-KO VT Academy. The administrator and the two trainers impart knowledge about AL-KO Vehicle Technology products and offer training and further education sessions. These are held either at the customer centre in Kötz, directly with customers and dealers on site, or online – across Europe.
Who is the AL-KO VT Academy for?
For dealers, manufacturers and service staff
“Our focus is on training and further education for external customers such as dealers, manufacturers and service staff. We train them to become experts in our products such as brakes or levelling support systems, equipping them with as much knowledge as possible so that they are fully competent both in theory and practice,” explains Training Manager Florian Vorreiter. The team offers a broad spectrum of training from basic courses to professional workshops with certification – suitable for every requirement and every level of detail.
“The certified workshops serve, on the one hand, to provide in-depth knowledge. Above all, they are a prerequisite for the installation and handling of our products. By contrast, the basic trainings are intended to introduce participants to the technology so that they can gain appropriate knowledge and provide targeted advice. Training on topics such as technology, sales, order advice, complaint processing, service and installation provide insights into the build and function of our products, and are tailored precisely to each target group.”
Internal trainings across Europe
For employees and trainees
The demand for knowledge, of course, does not come exclusively from dealers and service staff. The AL-KO VT Academy team also trains its own trainees and (new) employees. “Our aim is to offer internal trainings throughout Europe in the future. To achieve this, we want to implement a 'Train the Trainer' programme – to regularly meet the Europe-wide demand for our further education sessions and multiply our training and knowledge transfer efforts,” explains Nina Kast.
Content and topics of AL-KO VT Academy training courses
More than 40 training and further education sessions per year
The AL-KO VT Academy currently conducts around 40 training and further education sessions per year – and this number is growing. “Demand is very high, and of course we want to meet it. Some seminars have become mainstays over the years because they are so popular – for example, the professional workshops for the hydraulic levelling support systems. Thanks to feedback from participants and suggestions from dealers and manufacturers, new requests continually reach us. We review these and establish them as new training topics where appropriate,” says Florian Vorreiter. “That’s very important to us, as it allows us to adapt and update our content to meet the needs of the market.”
The AL-KO VT Academy also develops new training concepts itself and finds fresh approaches to knowledge transfer. Over the coming months and years, further target groups will also be served: a new course for chassis technicians, especially for the motorhome sector, is planned, as is a new training session for utility trailers and more.
Qualification to Become an AL-KO VT Chassis Technician
A tradition since the 1970s
The further training to become a chassis technician has a long tradition in the company, having been offered since the mid-1970s, and is aimed at professionals from the caravan sector. At present, around 100 new chassis technicians are trained each year. “AL-KO Vehicle Technology, as a company that has grown with the camping industry, also has a responsibility to provide training in the market. Safety and quality grow with the training of specialist staff, and this is our responsibility,” explains Magnus Annuscheit.
